Terms of Service

These are the terms for using Tripslate. By creating an account or using the app, you’re agreeing to them.

Who can use Tripslate

You must be at least 18, or the age of legal majority where you live, to create an account or make a payment through Tripslate. You’re responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for everything that happens under your account.

Groups and shared content

Tripslate is built around shared trip-planning groups. Anything you post inside a group (votes, chat messages, itinerary items, expenses, photos) is visible to every member of that group. You’re responsible for what you post, and you keep ownership of it; by posting it, you’re giving Tripslate the right to store and display it back to your group as part of running the app. Removing yourself or being removed from a group doesn’t retroactively unshare what you already posted there.

A group’s owner and the organizers they choose run the trip: they can confirm decisions for the group (or let everyone confirm), change confirmed dates, remove proposals and remove people from the group. When organizers confirm, the destination, dates or place to stay also confirm automatically once everyone who’s in has voted and one option clearly leads; nothing is booked or paid by that. The owner can also hand the group over to an organizer and is the only one who can delete it. If you are removed, you lose access to the group, and what you added stays with the trip. If the owner deletes their account, the group passes to an organizer; a group with other members but no organizer must be handed over (or someone made an organizer) before the owner can delete their account.

Only add photos to a group album that you have the right to share and that the people in them would be comfortable with the group seeing. Remove a photo if someone in it asks. Organizers can remove any photo.

On a surprise trip, the group may note details about the guest of honour, who isn’t on Tripslate (their name, flight and where they’re staying). Only add what that person would be comfortable with your group seeing, and remove it if they ask.

Packing suggestions are a general guide worked out from the trip’s destination, dates and plans. They can’t know your needs, the weather on the day, or entry and visa rules, so check those yourself.

When you add a destination, Tripslate fills in its region and climate for you from public sources (the country, where the place is and how high it sits). These are estimates to help matching, not facts about the weather on your dates; you can change them when adding the place.

Acceptable use

Don’t use Tripslate to harass, defraud, or impersonate anyone, post content you don’t have the right to post, or attempt to interfere with the service’s normal operation. If someone’s conduct is a problem (in Travel Buddies direct messages, for example), you can block them or report them from inside the app, or email support@tripslatetravel.com. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section.

Travel Buddies and connecting with other travelers

Open Experiences and Travel Buddies let you connect with other Tripslate users planning similar trips. We don’t run background checks or otherwise vet other users. Any plans you make with someone you meet this way (splitting a tour, meeting up) are between you and them; Tripslate isn’t a party to that arrangement and isn’t responsible for how it goes.

Bookings and payments

Bookable listings (tours, transportation, and similar) are offered by independent businesses, not by Tripslate. We provide the marketplace and payment processing, and take a 15% commission on each booking. All payments are processed by Stripe; we never see your full card number.

Each listing sets its own free-cancellation window. Cancelling yourself before that window closes gets a full refund; cancelling after it doesn’t, and you’d need to contact the business directly. A business cancelling a confirmed booking (weather, closure, etc.) always refunds you in full, regardless of timing.

If you list a business on Tripslate, you’re responsible for the accuracy of your listings, actually providing what you sell, and complying with whatever licensing or local law applies to your business. Questions about listing a business or partnering with Tripslate: partners@tripslatetravel.com.

Businesses get a performance summary for their listings (views, bookings, earnings after Tripslate’s commission and refunds, cancellations, ratings). It is a guide, not a statement: views count each time a traveler opens a listing, and your Stripe payouts are the record of what you were paid.

Expense settlement between group members

The expense-splitting and settlement tools help your group track who owes whom and pay each other back through Stripe, with no fee from Tripslate on these payments. This is a convenience feature, not a loan or banking service. Tripslate isn’t a party to the underlying debt between group members and isn’t responsible if someone doesn’t pay what they owe.

Accessibility, dietary and family information

Tripslate lets you share optional access needs, dietary needs, and the children you are bringing, and uses them to suggest places and activities. Those suggestions are a guide, not a promise. A destination or activity marked as suited to kids, or flagged as harder to get around, reflects ratings and details we hold, which may be missing or out of date.

Must-dos you add are one input among several when Tripslate suggests activities. We try to include options that cover them, but we can’t promise a must-do will be covered or that an activity matches it exactly.

Accessibility, dietary and minimum-age details on a listing are declared by the business. Tripslate does not check them. “Not confirmed” means the business hasn’t said, not that the answer is no. Before you book, confirm directly with the business anything you depend on, especially allergies and access needs. If you list a business, you’re responsible for these details being accurate.

Please don’t enter medical information we don’t ask for; a short note about what to plan around is enough.

Venue search for corporate offsites

Organizers of a corporate offsite can search venue partners for event and meeting spaces. Venue details, capacities, prices and availability come from the partner and may be wrong or out of date; confirm them with the venue before you rely on them. Quotes, contracts, payments and cancellations are between your company and the venue or partner. Tripslate is not a party to the venue contract and may earn a commission from the partner.

Activity suggestions and partner links

Tripslate suggests tours and activities listed by partner booking sites, currently Viator, and links to GetYourGuide. We may earn a commission if you book through those links, at no extra cost to you. Bookings, prices, availability, cancellation terms and refunds are between you and the partner, whose terms apply once you leave Tripslate. Details such as price, duration, age limits and accessibility come from the partner and may be out of date or incomplete; check them before you pay. Tripslate is not a party to your booking and is not responsible for the partner’s service.

Suggestions, including a drafted day-by-day plan, alternatives offered when a plan changes, a middle ground offered for a tied vote, and weather heads-ups, are produced automatically and can be wrong or out of date. A forecast is a guide, not a guarantee, and an alternative is not a confirmed booking or a promise that it is open or available. A drafted plan is only a starting point: nothing in it is decided until your group votes. Check with the venue or partner before you rely on it.

The booked activities list is a note the group keeps for itself. It is not a booking, a confirmation or a guarantee that a booking exists; Tripslate does not check it with the partner. Keep the partner’s own confirmation, and don’t record anything you wouldn’t want the whole group to see.

Reminders

Tripslate sends reminders: a member of your group can remind you about a decision, and Tripslate sends one automatically when a decision is waiting on you (for example, voting is about to close and you haven’t voted, or your group is waiting to hear if you’re in). Organizers also get one when a vote stays neck and neck for two days. You get at most one reminder a day per trip, they never say who sent them, and you can switch off push reminders in Settings. If your group records a booked tour or activity, Tripslate reminds everyone in the group the evening before and the morning of. These reminders are only as accurate as what was entered; they don’t check with the partner and are not a confirmation of your booking.

Calendar availability and suggested dates

You can choose to share which days you are busy so your group can find dates that suit most people. You control whether to share, can review and remove days first, and can stop at any time. Suggested dates are based only on what the people who shared told us, so they may not suit everyone, and they don’t check prices, availability, or anything else. Confirm your dates and bookings yourself.

Confirmed dates can be changed later. Before a change, Tripslate lists what may be affected (bookings, stays, flights and plans) and, for bookings made through Tripslate, the listing’s free-cancellation window. This is a guide based on what was recorded in the app, not a promise of a refund: changing dates does not move, cancel or refund any booking. Bookings made with partners, hotels or airlines follow their own terms; check them before you change your dates.

AI Assistant subscription

The AI Assistant is an optional paid add-on, currently $7.99/month, billed on a recurring basis until you cancel. New subscribers get a 7-day free trial: if you cancel before the trial ends you are not charged; otherwise the monthly charge starts when it ends. One free trial per person. On the web it is billed through Stripe and you cancel from your account’s billing settings. In the iPhone and Android apps it is billed by Apple or Google to your App Store or Google Play account, renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the trial or current period, and is cancelled in your iPhone Settings or in Google Play; deleting your Tripslate account does not cancel it. Refunds for in-app purchases are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. A subscription bought on any platform unlocks the add-on everywhere you sign in. Its answers are generated by a third-party AI model based on your trip’s data. They can be wrong or out of date, so don’t rely on them for anything safety-critical (visa requirements, medical needs, and the like).

The add-on also includes reading a receipt photo into itemized lines. The AI can misread a receipt, so check every line before you save it, and amounts you save are your record of what was paid.

It also includes reading a pasted booking email into flights, stays and activities. The AI can misread an email or miss a change, so check each one before you add it. What you add is a note for your group, not a booking or a confirmation from the airline, hotel or tour company: their own confirmation is what counts.

We may add additional AI-powered features to Tripslate over time; those will be covered by updates to these terms before or as they launch.

Intellectual property

Tripslate’s name, branding, and the app’s own code and design belong to us. Destination photos are sometimes sourced automatically from Wikimedia Commons under their own open licenses. Those remain the original photographers’ work, not ours to relicense. If you believe something on Tripslate infringes your copyright, email support@tripslatetravel.com with the work, where it appears, and how to reach you.

No warranty

Tripslate is provided “as is.” We don’t guarantee the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any destination, business listing, or third-party service booked through it will meet your expectations. We’re a trip-planning tool, not a travel agency, and we don’t guarantee the quality of trips planned using it.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Tripslate isn’t liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you’ve paid us in the past 12 months (or $100 if you haven’t paid us anything).

Ending your use of Tripslate

You can stop using Tripslate and request account deletion at any time (see our Privacy Policy for how). We can suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms.

Changes to these terms

If we make a meaningful change, we’ll update the date below and make a reasonable effort to let you know. Continuing to use Tripslate after a change means you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
